World Theatre Day

27th March is celebrated as World Theatre Day. It was created in 1961 by the International Theatre Institute. Here's the fragment for this year's message by Dame Judi Dench: "Theatre is a source of entertainment and inspiration and has the ability to unify the many diverse cultures and peoples. Theatre has the ability to make us smile, to make us cry, but should also make us think and reflect".

So let's think over the role of theatre in our lives. If you want to visit our School Drama Club website, go to: http://www.kolotgim14.hekko.pl/

Spelling competition Poland

Today one of our friends involved in eTwinning - Dominika Kaczmarek - participated in a spelling competition for gimnazjum students. She was one of 5 finalists and the whole class accompanied her. We had a lot of fun. Dominika won the second prize (in fact she was the leader for most time). Congratulations!

Slovenian Hobbies and Interests

Hobbies and Interests
Questionnaires answered by: 14 Average Age: 14 Sex: Female
After filling out the questionnaires we found out that our favourite free time activities are dancing, drawing, listening to music, photography and going out with friends.
All of us agreed that we prefer going out with friends than staying at home. In the last six months most of us went to a concert or cinema, we read many books for pleasure and almost all of us went skiing.
We also found out that we do many sports regularly, most often we go dancing, play tennis or do athletics. More than half of us are members of a team or club.
We aren’t very good at playing instruments, but those who play them, usually play piano, drums or guitar.
We rarely collect something, but if we do, we most often collect CDs, perfumes or concert tickets.
Our favourite types of music are Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, Rap or Indie. Our favourite groups are Black Eyed Peas, The Preety Reckless, MGMT… Our favourite singers are Rihanna, Lady Gaga, David Guetta (DJ), Joan Jett, Jim Morrison and many more.
Almost all of us agreed that we’re interested in art, but not in politics and science.
Some of us run our blogs and we sometimes play computer games

Benefits of the project

This project has given us a lot of interesting moments and I can say that every day when I open my post, I always start with the Ning. Czech students have learned so much from the activities, they have learned about six countries, they have learned about languages, national exams from our partners´schools are a good material for English lessons and I can use them in many classes. The other benefit is the fact that we are going to have reader´s badge from the next school year and the children will be encouraged to read more. Thanks to the Slovenain school. It will be very strange when the project finishes but I believe that it will never finish and our community can go on. Thank you, all the people who are involved.

Spring, where are you?

Even though it is March, Slovenia is covered in snow again. There were snow blizzards yesterday and it fell up to one metre of snow in some parts of Slovenia. In Ljubljana we got "only" 50 centimetres of new snow. They even had to close some schools because the wind was blowing up to 200 km per hour in the coastal part of Slovenia. And what about you? Are you as fed up with winter and snow as I am?

On March 3, 1878 , the Peace Treaty of San Stefano was signed. The Peace Treaty of San Stefano marks the revival of the Bulgarian State, submerged under Ottoman rule since the end of 14th century. Polish group - back to school after winter break:-)

After two weeks of winter break we came happily back to school:-) During our meeting we tried to recognize the titles of books our Czech, Bulgarian and Swedish friends prepared for literature competition. It wasn't always easy:-) We also worked with our TOP10 DICTIONARY! it was really interesting to compare our languages, fins similarities and differences. Some foreign words and phrases seem quite funny for us:-) But we realize it's the same with Polish language when you listen to it!
